Celluar Camera firmware and MCU module upgrade

Note:The article outlines a complex process with the risk of upgrade failure that could render the camera unusable. It is recommended to consult the GardePro Customer Care team before proceeding with the upgrade.

The entire upgrade process is expected to take approximately 20 minutes.

1.  Upgrade Camera Version: Ensure your camera firmware is not below version V6.2.106 ; if it is, you need to upgrade the camera version.

2.  Upgrade the MCU Module Version: After upgrading the camera firmware, proceed to update the MCU module to V009.

MCU module upgrades can only be based on the V004 version. If you are not on this version, or if you are already on V009, there is no need to upgrade.

Upgrade Instructions:

● Upgrade Order: Please note that it is crucial to upgrade the camera version first, followed by the MCU module version.

● Power Supply: Ensure the device has sufficient battery during the upgrade process and avoid any power interruptions.

Camera Firmware Upgrade Steps:

Note:Ensure your camera firmware is not below version V6.2.106; if it is, you need to upgrade the camera version.

1). FInstall the battery and SD card in the camera.

2). Format the SD card.

3). Download the firmware: (Please consult the GardePro Customer Care Team for accurate firmware.)

4). Turn the camera switch to "OFF".

5). Connect the camera to the computer using a USB cable

6). Press and hold the "MENU "button,then move the power switch from "OFF "to "ON".The camera screen will display "Copy image to U disk, Then press OK".

7). Copy the firmware into the camera's SD card storage (Note: the firmware is a .img file in binary format that can't be opened by applications. Just copy it or move it to SD card drive.The file type is safe with full erification.)

8). Once the firmware is copied,press the "OK" button on the camera to initiate the automatic firmware upgrade process.

9). After done, unplugthe USB cable and restart the camera

10). Please check the "Version" in the menusettings whether it is right.Ensure your camera firmware is not below version V6.2.106;

MCU Module Upgrade Steps:

Note: Confirm if the MCU module is V009 version; if it is V004 version, an upgrade is required.

1). All the following steps are different from your previous upgrade steps, please follow the steps below.

2). Before starting, please format the SD card.

3). Make sure the camera is in charging status, don't power off freely during the upgrade.

4). Download the upgrade firmware I provide for you:  click here to download

5). Turn on the camera, plug the type-C / Mini USB cable device into the camera, the camera screen will show Card Reader (no need to press MENU button).

6). Then copy the upgrade firmware (no need to unzip) to the camera SD card (as shown in the picture)

7). After copying, unplug the type-C connector, click Menu button, select "Advanced Settings".

8). Select "Modem Upgrade", click OK to upgrade.

9). Upgrade in about 5-10Min (during the period can not power down, otherwise it will lead to upgrade abnormalities, can not be remedied, the power needs to be more than 20 per cent)

10). After the upgrade is successful, reboot the device.

 

11)  . Click CEllular info to check whether "adapter" is upgraded successfully (tail number is 009).

12). After the upgrade is successful, no other additional operations, wait for a while, and then check whether the three signal icons of the camera are normal. If it is normal, you can start using it.

13). If it is not a normal situation, you can try manually switching the IMSI. The steps for switching are as follows:

"Advanced Settings" — "SIM Settings" — "Multi IMSI" — "Select Mode" — "Manualatic" — select the appropriate carrier.

14). If it is not normal, it is a complicated situation, which needs further research and analysis, and you need to provide detailed and complete information of "PDP" and "CONN" in "Cellular info" to ensure that the camera is working properly.
