X66 Series Camera Activation Guide

This guide walks you through the step-by-step activation process, helping you quickly connect your camera using the latest GardePro Mobile App (available on Android v2.2.12 and iOS v2.2.37 or later). Applies to models like the X66 Series.

1. Simplified Activation Overview

With the latest update, activation is faster and easier:

  • Quick QR Code Access: After startup, press OK to display the QR code for fast scan-to-activate setup.

  • App-Based Activation: Scan the code using the GardePro Mobile App.

  • Trial Plan: The first plan on your account includes a 1-month free trial.

 

2. Activation Process

Follow these steps to activate your camera and start using your plan.

2.1 Camera Startup & QR Code Display

①. Turn on the camera and wait for the system to initialize (at most 30 seconds).

②. When the screen shows “Press OK to display the QR code...” press the OK button — the activation QR code will then appear.

③. If the camera hasn’t been activated, you can still access basic camera settings (e.g., time, language) by pressing the Menu button on the QR code screen — although some features will be limited.

2.2 Scan the QR Code in GardePro Mobile App

①. Open the GardePro Mobile App (make sure it’s the latest version).

②. On the home screen, tap Add Cellular Camera → Select your camera model → Follow the guide (or skip it) → Then scan the QR code on your camera screen.

③. After scanning, you’ll be taken to the Subscription Plan page.

2.3 Subscribe to a Plan

①. Choose a data plan that suits your needs.

②. Your account’s first plan includes a 1-month free trial, based on the data allowance of the selected plan.

③. All cameras added to this plan during the trial period can be used for free.

④. For example, if your first plan is the popular “Premium – Annually” plan, you’ll enjoy one month of unlimited usage. After the trial ends, the plan you selected will begin billing. Under the same plan, the first camera is billed at the full price, and each additional camera is charged at a fixed discounted rate.

Note:

· You can cancel auto-renewal anytime before billing starts.

· If you have multiple cameras, adding them to the same plan gives you two benefits: shared data and discounted pricing for additional cameras.

2.4 Complete activation

Once the subscription plan payment is completed, tap OK on the screen when prompted — you’ll be redirected to the camera list. Your camera will then be successfully activated, and you can tap it to view status, settings, gallery, and live stream.

Note: If the camera does not have an active subscription, it remains not activated and will not upload any photos.

 

3. Reactivate Your Camera

If your subscription has expired or was previously canceled, you can reactivate your camera in one of the following ways:

● In the camera list, find the inactive camera and tap Reactivate (Plan).

● Or go to the Plans page, locate it under Camera Without Plan, and tap Reactivate.

Once the subscription is completed, your camera will be reactivated and ready to use.

 

4. Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Why doesn't my camera show a QR code?

  • Older models may not support it. X66 and X80 series support the new process.

  • Make sure the camera has fully initialized (wait 10–20 seconds), then press the OK button as prompted on the screen.

 

Q2: Do I need a subscription to activate my camera?

Yes. A valid subscription plan is required to activate and use the camera with the GardePro app.

 

Q3: Can I stop subscribing after the free trial?

Yes, but without a valid subscription, your camera will not upload photos or videos to the app.

 

Q4: Why can’t I access the main screen on my camera?

If there is no valid subscription, core functions will be restricted. However, basic settings are still available and the camera will continue capturing to the SD card.

 

Q5: Without a subscription, how can I view photos and videos?

You can remove the SD card and view the content on a computer or card reader.

 

Q6: What does “Modem unavailable” mean on startup?

Try restarting the camera. If the issue persists, please contact GardePro support.

 

Q7: What should I do if the screen shows “Please install SIM card!”?

The SIM card may not be properly inserted. Please remove and reinsert the included SIM card.

 

Q8: What does “Invalid SIM Card” mean?

Only the included SIM card is supported. Other SIM cards are not compatible with this camera.

 

Q9: Can I use the camera without activation?

Yes. The camera can be used without activation by pressing the Start button to enter surveillance mode. Photos will be saved directly to the SD card. However, without activation, you won’t be able to access the GardePro app to configure shooting settings — all settings will remain at their factory defaults. To view the captured photos, simply remove the SD card and use a card reader, or connect the camera to a computer via the included USB cable.
