This article includes the following sections,If your problem still cannot be solved, please contact us , and tell us which step went wrong:

1.Camera displays a black screen and does not work

If your camera turns on and shows a black screen with no picture, there are two scenarios, please read the following two scenarios normally:
  • The camera is working and needs to wake up the screen:

Since the GardePro camera does not light up the screen when it is working, if you want it to light up, click on the "Start" button (models with "OFF" and "ON" switching buttons only)/ Slide the switch button to "SET" ( Models with switch button options "OFF", "ON", and "SET"),the camera screen will wake up.This is normal.

  • The camera does not power up properly:

If your camera is confirmed as not powering on properly, follow the steps below for troubleshooting:

    • Disconnect battery power

    • Plug in the USB to the computer while holding the “Down” button. Slide the switch button to "ON" (models with "OFF" and "ON" switching buttons only)/ Slide the switch button to "SET" ( Models with switch button options "OFF", "ON", and "SET")

    • Please check whether the screen will light up in this method? (The screen: Card Reader).

    • After the test, reinstall the camera into the battery compartment to check whether the camera can be used normally.(The use of rechargeable AA batteries or the mixing of old and new batteries is not recommended as the lower voltage they produce can cause operational issues. The worst case is that some batteries might not power the camera up)

    • If it still does not start, please contact us immediately and explain the troubleshooting steps you have tried.

2.Camera can't capture images or video

  • Reasons for not capture images or video:

    • Low battery: The camera needs to turn on the IR LEDs when working at night, which consumes more power than working during the day. If the voltage is low, it will record shorter videos or not record videos.

    • Error mod:The camera is not programmed to hybrid model.

    • Insufficient SD card memory or file system error:

      • If the SD card memory is insufficient, the camera will not be able to store captured pictures or videos;
      • Incompatibility of the SD card format with the camera may result in videos/pictures captured by the camera not being stored on the SD card, leading the customer to believe that the camera has not captured correctly.
    • Wrong settings of “Operation Hour”: If the operation hour is set, the camera will only work during this time, and it will be on standby at other times.

    • Inappropriate mounting position: The camera is mounted in an unreasonable position, resulting in a small camera trigger range.

    • Camera Sensor Damage: If the camera sensor is damaged, you will not be able to capture any pictures or videos.

  • Troubleshooting Steps:

    • Please install a fresh set of alkaline or lithium batteries, depending on the camera model.

    • Ensure the camera is set to hybrid model: The camera defaults to hybrid model when it comes out of the factory. If you want to capture images, you need to manually adjust the shooting mode (Menu > Photo or Video > hybrid).

    • Check the SD card capacity, if the storage space capacity is insufficient, delete the data or replace the SD card.

    • Format the SD card: press MENU, and go to ‘Format SD card’ to ensure the SD card working in the right file system.

    • Check if the camera has been set to “Operation Hour” as you expected.

    • Adjust the camera placement:

      1. Mount the camera on a sturdy tree with a diameter of about 6 inches (15 cm). The tree should be a minimum of approximately 16-17 feet (5 metres) from the area to be monitored to ensure proper focus is obtained.
      2. Adjust the height of the camera to be 2.5-3.5 feet (0.75-1 meter) above the ground. This will ensure that the camera can capture the whole body of most animals.
      3. Adjust the camera angle to 0-15 degrees. This will ensure that the camera is facing the area you want to monitor.
      4. If the angle is too large, the shooting distance will be too close and the camera may not be able to focus correctly, resulting in a blurred or unclear shot.
      5. Make sure that the front of the camera is not blocked by any branches, leaves, or other objects. This will ensure that the camera can sense and shoot the animals clearly.

    • you can run a motion test:
